The head of the Syrian Negotiating Commission, Dr. Badr Jamous, stressed the importance of the visit of Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to Damascus today, considering it an official recognition of the new administration in Damascus, and support for the interim government that is working to ensure stability and secure the minimum living needs of Syrians. He also pointed out that this visit comes within the framework of seeking to lift the sanctions imposed on Syria, which helps the economic wheel to turn and contributes to improving the lives of Syrians.
During an interview with Al-Mashhad TV channel today, Sunday, Jamous said: “We expressed our support for the current interim government that will run Syria for three months. A vacuum is not allowed, as it causes chaos and affects all Syrians. We confirmed this during our attendance at a session of the UN Security Council at the United Nations, and through our direct and indirect communications with all Syrian parties.”
Jamous added: “The solution will be through consultation and dialogue between us as Syrians, to pave the way for a consultative national conference that will lead to the formation of a comprehensive transitional government, the preparation of a new constitution, and arrangements for fair elections under the supervision of the United Nations.” The head of the SNC stressed that there are no two parties in Syria, stressing that differences in viewpoints are natural, but all Syrians are on one side, and they must work together to build the Syria of the future and ensure the right of everyone to representation and participation in building the homeland they dream of.
