⦁ Description  

The Syrian Negotiation Commission – Geneva Office (SNCGO), as part of its communication and media efforts, is contracting with a Wikipedia developer on a consultancy basis. The purpose of this contract is to develop and publish a comprehensive and professional Wikipedia page for the Syrian Negotiation Commission (SNC) in both Arabic and English. The page will aim to enhance the public visibility of the SNC, provide qualitative and factual information about its history, mandate and activities, and link the page to the official SNC website. The Wikipedia page should adhere to Wikipedia’s content and editorial guidelines, ensuring that it remains neutral, verifiable, and encyclopedic.

⦁    Duties and Responsibilities  

The SNC seeks to hire a Wikipedia-Developing professional (hereby the contractor) to develop an official Wikipedia page for the SNC. The content of the page will be developed in consultation with the SNC leadership, and SNC media team.

 The contractor will be responsible for:  

⦁ Prepare professional, qualitative, and comprehensive  content about the SNC narrating historical background, objectives, structure, activities, partnerships, and  achievements. 

⦁ Ensure the complies with Wikipedia policies, and guidelines such as neutrality, verifiability and notability 

⦁ Upkeep a synchronized structure of the page in multiple languages while adhering to Wikipedia Manuel of Style. 

⦁ Ensure the Wikipedia page is well referenced and linked to the official SNC website. 

⦁ Ensure team work with SNC Media team in consultation with the SNC leadership. 

⦁ Provide guidance on sustaining the Wikipedia page, including future content updates, monitoring for vandalism, and ensuring the page remains up-to-date.

⦁ Maintain confidentiality of all non-public information accessed during the course of the post. The contractor must not disclose any sensitive information without prior written consent from the SNC leadership.
