Upcoming meetings with officials and policymakers to discuss the Syrian situation

The Chairman of the Syrian Negotiating Commission, Dr. Badr Jamous, is attending the 22nd session of the “Doha Forum 2024”, which is held on December 7 and 8 under the patronage of the Emir of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and is attended by heads of state, heads of governments, and regional and international organizations.

On the sidelines of the forum, the Chairman of the Commission is holding numerous meetings and encounters with Arab and European officials, and representatives of international organizations to discuss the current Syrian situation, the positions of countries, the political process, and the uprising of the displaced that dominates the current Syrian situation.

He discusses with officials and policy makers the Syrian situation, the frenzied movement as the Syrian revolution approaches its fifteenth year, and the necessity of shifting international attention from seeking calm to resolving the issue as a whole and implementing international resolutions, most notably UN Security Council Resolution 2254, and the responsibility of the United Nations and the international community to find binding and urgent mechanisms.

The head of the SNC also discusses the negotiating Commission’s strategy for communication at the Arab and international levels in order to focus efforts on a political solution, and formulate a rapid, systematic program that paves the way for an urgent solution in line with international resolutions. He holds meetings at the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies, as well as meetings with some Qatari officials.

The forum is attended by a number of world leaders, policy makers, leaders of regional, international and UN organizations, experts and researchers, and sheds light through its sessions on various global issues to present innovative solutions to the challenges facing the world.
