Dr. Bader Jamous, President of the Syrian Negotiation Commission, is set to convene a meeting tomorrow, Wednesday, October 16, with various country representatives, diplomats, and officials from Europe and international organizations in Geneva. This meeting aims to rally international support for the Syrian cause and to draw attention to the plight of Syrian refugees in Lebanon amidst the ongoing conflict, while also providing a political briefing on the latest developments and updates regarding the Syrian issue and the political solution.

Attendees will include representatives from the European Union, the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Belgium, Turkey, Austria, Canada, Denmark, the Czech Republic, Finland, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Ireland, Slovenia, Spain, and Switzerland, as well as envoys and diplomats from Egypt and Qatar.

Furthermore, Dr. Jamous, accompanied by several members of the Negotiation Commission, will meet with the UN Special Envoy for Syria, Mr. Geir Pedersen. They will discuss the latest developments in the political landscape, the outcomes of recent leadership meetings in New York, and explore potential actions to protect Syrian refugees fleeing Lebanon, who are enduring extremely challenging conditions and face an uncertain future if they return to Syria. The discussions will also address the need for the Syrian regime to cease its obstruction of the political solution, given the significant risks this poses to Syria and the broader Middle East.
